Empty Bowls

An annual event sponsored by the Community Center for Outreach that combines the art world with the world of non-profit. Volunteers purchase pottery bowls, which they decorate and then donate to be sold. The proceeds benefit local organizations assisting the homeless people living in Lawrence. This event raised more than $700 during it’s 2001 sale and over $2000 has been donated to the Jubilee Café, a non-profit organization that provides meals to local homeless people, since the program began after our 1999 LeaderShape Institute.
