House That Greeks Built
A philanthropic endeavor
coordinated by the Panhellenic Association and Interfraternity Council, which
work together to not only raise funds for the building of a Habitat for Humanity
house but also coordinate the hundreds of people-power hours needed to complete
the building of the house. The students roll up their sleeves to recruit sponsors,
secure funds, and then actually build the house. Since its inception, the KU
Fraternity/Sorority community have built two houses in the Lawrence community.
They spend one year raising funds, the second year is spent building the house.
This idea was generated by one of our first LeaderShape participants. Currently,
there is discussion about opening this up to the entire university community
and renaming it “The House that Hawks Built.”
